Accessibility Statement
What we're aiming at, what we've actually done, and what still doesn't work — because a statement that only lists the wins isn't a statement.

Our commitment
NOMI should be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, voice control or reduced-motion settings. We treat accessibility as part of building the site, not a pass we do at the end.
The standard we're working to
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We assess against it as we build and when we ship significant changes. We describe ourselves as partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, and the known gaps are listed below.
What we've done
- Text and background colors are checked for contrast, including the cream-on-black and black-on-cream combinations the brand runs on.
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline that we haven't removed.
- Images that carry meaning have alt text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced as noise.
- Headings run in a logical order so a screen reader can be used to navigate a page rather than read all of it.
- Form fields have real labels, not placeholder text pretending to be labels, and errors are described in words.
- Layouts reflow to 320px and support zoom to 200% without loss of content or horizontal scrolling of the page.
- Wide content — tables, nutrition panels — scrolls inside its own container instead of breaking the page.
- Motion is limited, and animated elements respect the reduced-motion setting on your device.
Known limitations
Being straight about where we fall short:
- Embedded social feeds. The TikTok feed on our homepage is rendered by TikTok inside an embed. Its keyboard behavior and labeling are outside our control. Everything in that section is also available directly on our profiles, and none of our product or nutrition information depends on it.
- Third-party apps. Checkout is operated by Shopify and some functionality comes from installed apps. We choose accessible ones where we have a choice and raise issues with the vendor where we don't.
- Customer-submitted content. Photos in reviews are submitted by customers and may lack useful alt text. We add descriptions to the ones we feature.
- Older content. A small amount of earlier imagery has thin alt text. We're rewriting it as we touch each page.
If something doesn't work for you
Tell us and we'll fix it. Email hello@eatnomifoods.com with the page and what happened — even "the third button down does nothing with my keyboard" is enough to go on. We aim to reply within two business days and to fix accessibility defects ahead of other work.
If you can't use the site to do something, we'll do it with you. That includes taking an order, explaining nutrition information, applying a Community Rate code, or reading you the ingredients on any product. Just email and say what you need.
How we test
We test with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, automated contrast and semantics checks, and screen-reader spot checks on the pages that matter most — home, shop, product, cart and checkout. We haven't commissioned a third-party audit yet; when we do, we'll publish the result here, including what it finds.
