Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who touches it, and how to make us stop. In plain sentences, because a policy nobody can read isn't a disclosure.
Last updated September 2026
The short version
We collect what we need to sell you ramen and send it to your door: your name, address, email, and what you ordered. Payment card numbers never reach us — they go straight to our payment processor. We don't sell your data. We do use analytics and advertising cookies, and you can turn those off. Email hello@eatnomifoods.com and we'll delete you on request.
The rest of this page is the detail behind that paragraph.
1. Who we are
NOMI Foods operates nomiramen.com and is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact: hello@eatnomifoods.com.
2. What we collect
- Identity and contact — name, email, shipping and billing address, phone if you give it.
- Order information — what you bought, when, order value, subscription schedule, returns and refunds.
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We receive a confirmation, the card type and last four digits. We never see or store the full card number.
- Account information — if you create one: login credentials (hashed), saved addresses, order history.
- Communications — emails and form submissions you send us, including contact, wholesale, Community Rate and Field Team applications, plus reviews and photos you submit.
- Device and usage — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and interactions with the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Marketing preferences — whether you're subscribed, and which emails you've opened or clicked.
We don't knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information, and we don't ask for health information. If you tell us something about your diet or health in a message, we use it only to answer you.
3. How we collect it
Directly from you when you order, sign up, apply to a program, or write to us. Automatically through cookies and analytics when you use the site. And from service providers — our payment processor confirms a charge, our carrier confirms a delivery.
4. Why we use it, and our legal bases
- To fulfill your order — performance of our contract with you.
- To run subscriptions and take payment — performance of contract.
- To provide support and handle returns — contract and legitimate interests.
- To send marketing email — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To measure and improve the site, and to advertise — consent where required, otherwise our legitimate interest in running a business people can find.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet tax, accounting and food-safety obligations — legitimate interests and legal obligation.
5. Who we share it with
Service providers who need it to do their job, under contract, and only for that job:
- Shopify — our ecommerce platform and hosting.
- Payment processors — including Shopify Payments and any wallet you choose at checkout.
- Shipping carriers and fulfillment — to pick, pack and deliver.
- Email and SMS platforms — to send order and marketing messages.
- Analytics and advertising platforms — to understand traffic and to reach people who may want the product.
- Apps installed on our store — such as reviews, subscriptions and affiliate tracking, where installed.
- Professional advisors and authorities — where we're legally required, or to establish or defend legal claims.
If the business is ever sold or merged, customer information may transfer as part of it. We'd tell you.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising and analytics cookies may count as "sharing" or "selling" under California law — see section 9, and use the opt-out described there.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the cart and checkout, and these can't be turned off. We also use analytics cookies to see which pages work, and advertising cookies so our ads reach people who might actually want protein ramen.
You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings, through the opt-out described in section 9, and through your device's global privacy control — we honor GPC signals as an opt-out where applicable.
7. Marketing email
We email subscribers with product news, recipes and occasional offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. Unsubscribing from marketing doesn't stop transactional email about an order you've placed.
8. How long we keep it
Order and transaction records: as long as needed for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, typically seven years. Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don't email you again by accident. Analytics data: typically 14–26 months depending on the platform. Support correspondence: two years. Account data: until you close the account.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email hello@eatnomifoods.com and ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. We'll respond within 30 days and we won't charge you or treat you worse for asking.
If you're in California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what we collect and why, to access and delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect any). You may use an authorized agent. To opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, email us with "Do Not Sell or Share" in the subject, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honor it.
If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR)
You additionally have the right to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to your local supervisory authority. Where we transfer data outside your region, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Other US states
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana — have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, port, and opt out of targeted advertising. Use the same email address and we'll handle it the same way.
10. Notice of financial incentive
We offer a discount in exchange for your email address — a first-order discount when you subscribe, and free product to people who join First Batch. Under California law that's a "financial incentive" and we have to explain it, so:
- What you give: your email address, and your name if you provide it.
- What you get: a discount code for your first order, plus our marketing emails.
- How we value it: we estimate the value of your data as roughly equal to the value of the discount we give — that is, the expected additional margin from having a subscriber, which we assess as approximately the cost of the discount itself.
- How to join and leave: you join by submitting the form. You can withdraw at any time by clicking unsubscribe or emailing us, with no penalty. Withdrawing doesn't claw back a discount you already used.
11. Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. Payments are handled by PCI-compliant processors. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires and as we'd want to be told.
12. Children
This site isn't directed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
13. Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes get announced on the site or by email.
